Description

Notes From John

BPM = 143, in 4/4. The Intro rests, then a snare fill leads to Verse 1 at 0:06, under “Lord almighty, I…”, with an eighth-note hat groove and a 16th snare fill into the Chorus. The Chorus at 0:33, cued by “Your kisses lift…”, opens on the crash. Verse 2 under “Ooh, ooh, ooh…” returns to the groove, and the Chorus under “‘Cause your kisses…” adds bracketed snare notes. The Instrumental keeps them, and Verse 3 under “It’s coming closer…” builds to an accented 16th fill. The last Chorus prints “hi-hats loose”, then “hi-hats normal”, and the Outro at 2:20 under “With burning love…” pairs crashes with the snare to the final hit. The section boxes carry the record’s timestamps.

For the player

Ronnie Tutt plays drums on the track. Pair the crash with the snare under “With burning love…”. At BPM = 143 the job is the feel.
