Description

Notes From John

BPM = 97, in 4/4, an instrumental. The Intro opens on a 16th snare figure, then the groove arrives marked “slight shuffle on 16th notes”. Verse 1 at 0:36 keeps that groove and adds grace notes and crossed-circle hat marks before a sextuplet fill. The Chorus at 1:16 is built on accents. The Re-Intro and Verse 2 return to the groove with printed stickings, and the second Chorus brings buzz rolls with hairpins and accented 16th snares. The Solo at 2:29 and the Bridge use stickings, triplets and sextuplets, and the Alt Bridge prints “hi-hats loose” and an sfp roll. The Outro runs accented sextuplets to the last hit. The section boxes carry the record’s timestamps.

For the player

Dan D’Imperio is the drummer on Chameleon. Play the sfp roll into the Outro. At BPM = 97 the job is the feel.
