Description
Notes From John
The chord side of the Rhythm/Lead chart, at BPM = 139 with capo 2 and G shapes. A G, E°7, Am7, D arpeggio rings through the verses, the pre-chorus drives Am, D, C and Cm in straight eighths, the chorus hits big single chords, and the bridge chops C and A in eighths with rests.
For the player
Hold each arpeggio shape down so the notes overlap. When the pre-chorus switches to straight eighths, keep the strumming wrist loose and even through the Am, D, C and Cm changes. In the chorus, strike each chord once and let it ring; stay under the vocal there. In the bridge, the rests between the chops matter as much as the chords. At BPM = 139 the job is the feel.
