The lead side of John’s Rhythm/Lead chart, in tab, 4/4 at BPM = 149. The intro is a clean double-stop line climbing to the 12th fret over D, G and A7. In the verses, two-note fills come down from the 10th to 12th frets over G, A7 and D, filling the gaps between the vocal lines. The outro brings the verse fills back before it stops on a short D.
For the player
Most fills come in after a rest, so the job is answering the vocal, not playing over it. Ride the downbeat into each two-note slide and keep the double stops even. Let the slides into the A7 shapes ring, and keep the last notes of each phrase short where the chart marks them. At BPM = 149 the job is the feel.
