Description
Notes From John
BPM = 115. The line is in treble clef with five sharps and runs from F#3 to D5. The voice rests through the intro, then the first Ghostbusters! shout lands. X noteheads mark the spoken lines, where the pitch is an estimate, and the outro trades calls up to the last shout.
For the player
Ray Parker Jr. sang the 1984 record himself, and John notes that much of the part is spoken rather than sung. Treat the x noteheads as a rough guide to where the voice sits, not exact pitches to match. Hit it cold on each Ghostbusters! shout, coming straight off the rest at full energy. Save the pitched singing for the verses and the bridge’s “yeah, yeah”. At BPM = 115 the job is the feel.
