Description
Notes From John
BPM = 115. The part is played capo 2, with open A, G and D shapes strummed to marked pick strokes. The chart rests through the intro and comes in loud with the riff. The choruses switch to Am, Am/G, D/F# and D, and the drum break is a single E5 stab.
For the player
The 1984 record has no strum guitar, so John built this part at capo 2 to keep the chords open and simple. Follow the marked down and up strokes so the pattern stays the same from bar to bar. In the verses, stay under the vocal by strumming lighter than in the choruses. Let the single E5 in the drum break ring, then count the rests until the chorus comes back. At BPM = 115 the job is the feel.
