The lead side of John’s Rhythm/Lead chart, in tab, 6/8 with the eighth note at BPM = 147. The verses and outro are tremolo-picked single notes, marked “continue 12 per note,” with the line stepping down through the chords: A to Amaj9 to Asus4, Bm to Bm(maj9), D to Dmaj9 to Dsus4. It sits between the 4th and 9th frets, with a slide up to the 9th in the Bm bars.
For the player
The tremolo line is the part, so serve the riff, don’t thicken it. Keep the picking even at twelve per note and let the moving note carry the chord changes. Make the slide into the 9th fret clean, and land each step of the line right on the chord change above it. At BPM = 147 the job is the feel.
