Description
Notes From John
BPM = 194. Swung. Sleigh bells, tambourine, or a loose hi-hat, preferably with brushes.
For the player
Gene was on Champion Jr. in the 1946 Hollywood parade when a kid yelled the title, and Oakley Haldeman wrote the melody. The jingle bells came off a demo playback: ice cubes tinkling in a glass. The 1947 Columbia session has no named drummer. The Cass County Boys are the voices with him. The chart wants sleigh bells, tambourine, or a loose hi-hat, preferably with brushes. Stay under the vocal. At BPM = 194 the job is the feel.
