Description

Notes From John

A clean guitar part in tab, 4/4 at BPM = 112, with swing eighths marked from Verse 1 and “straight 8ths” on the last bar. Palm muting is marked on and off by section. Most of the part is short, staccato two- and three-note chord stabs with rests between them. The bridges at 0:47 and 1:55 add single-note walking lines on the low strings between stabs. Verse 2 at 1:04 and the chorus at 1:21 move to F♯, B and C♯ chords, and the 1:38 solo section returns to G and C with a short climb to the 12th fret.

For the player

The stabs are the part, so keep them short and leave the rests empty. Follow the “start palm mute” and “end palm mute” marks, which switch around the bridges, and ride each gear change into the F♯ chords at 1:04. Switch to straight eighths only on the last bar, where the chart marks it. At BPM = 112 the job is the feel.
