Description
Notes From John
A strum part in tab, 4/4 with swing eighths marked, at BPM = 118. The guitar rests for the first three bars of the intro and comes in on A7 with an up-stroke pickup. The verses strum D, Dmaj7, D6, D♯º7, Em7 and A7 shapes, the pre-choruses move through G, G♯º7, D, E7, A and A7, and the choruses add B7, G, Gm and A7/E. Down and up strokes are printed above the strums. The A bar near the end of the pre-chorus is one short strum and rests, and the part ends on a held D.
For the player
The pattern is mostly down strokes with up strokes where the chart marks them, so ride the downbeat and play the ups only where they’re printed. Count the three-bar rest at the top before the A7 pickup, and leave the gap after the short A strum in the pre-chorus. At BPM = 118 the job is the feel.
