Description
Notes From John
A strum part in tab, 4/4 at BPM = 146, with swing eighths marked and “Capo 6” printed at the top. The verses, tags and outro strum C, Am, Dm and G shapes in an eighth-note pattern with tied strums across the beat. The pre-choruses move through E, Am, Dm, D and G and end on a bar of straight down-up eighths with a crescendo, marked to f the first time. The 0:34 chorus thins out to fewer strums at mp, and the choruses add B♭º7, Dm7 and Fm. The interlude at 1:01 is one C strum held across two bars, and the 2:10 chorus drops to one strum per chord at mp before the pattern comes back at f. Down and up strokes are marked at the start of most sections.
For the player
The pattern stays mostly the same, but the chart keeps changing how much of it you play: full at f, thinned out at mp, one held strum at 1:01, one strum per chord at 2:10. Ride each gear change, and let the tied strums carry across the beat instead of restriking. Keep the build bar at the end of the pre-chorus even. At BPM = 146 the job is the feel.
