Been Caught Stealing – Jane’s Addiction – Drum Breakdown

Drummer Stephen Perkins does this beat in a particular way for much of the song – with the right hand doing the main hi-hat and snare beat, and the left hand picking up the offbeat snares. In addition, there is a whip type sample(?) along with a snap sample playing on all 2s and 4s throughout the song, which he doesn’t do live of course. I indicated to accent the 2s and 4s throughout because of this, and also so the offbeat snares will be less impactful. Some are ghost notes as well (as indicated). Some offbeat snares are louder than others, and this is more of a feel thing that can be helped by listening to the song.
